YELLOW performing at the Swedish Park theatres this summer

The Swedish Park Theaters/Parkteatern started 1942 and was inspired by New York’s Central Park and their summer stage, both offering open air performances during the summer free of charge. June 15, the company piece YELLOW will perform at Sommartorget (”the summer square”) in Vårby in Huddinge, Stockholm (SE). June 16 at Skogås torg (”Square”) and June 18 in Sjödalsparken. More summer gigs will be added!

In GUL three people dressed in clouds appear. A yellow ball rolls past and a yellow cone sits tight. Red cones fly through the air and a yellow companion begins to emerge. Who are we and what are the yellow things doing here?

YELLOW is an outdoor performance suitable for everyone from three years.

“Is it over now?”
“No not yet”
“Good. I want to sit here another thousand years.”

LITTLE SWAN LAKE at SWEDSTAGE / Bibu

We are proud to announce that our performance LITTLE SWAN LAKE is selected to perform at Bibu (Biennial in performing arts for children and youth) in Helsingborg (SE). We will perform twice on Saturday May 21, within the framework of Young Swedstage. More info here.

Claire Parsons created LITTLE SWAN LAKE for Unga Dramaten (The Young Dramatic Theatre) in Stockholm in their series “Classics from a children’s perspective”. Instead of the gracious swans we might expect, three other figures appear on stage, ready to spread their wings, dance on a silver lake, and find new steps for birds in formation. An audience favorite, LITTLE SWAN LAKE is currently touring in collaboration with The Royal Dramatic Theater.

”…45 minutes of pure movement joy” Expressen
”Too good to be true!”  The children’s jury of the Hurraa! – Festival in Helsinki (FI), giving the show ten points out of ten.

CLAIRE PARSONS CO. talks about money

Let’s talk about money – is the title of the seminar at Bibu (Biennial performing arts for children and youth) Friday, May 20th where Claire Parsons Co. will participate. How does a performing artist make a living? The seminar poses a couple of questions about markets, attitudes towards money and maybe touch some taboos…..

The seminar is organized by Assitej Young Dance Network. In addition to Claire Parsons Co. the international producers and choreographers Magnus Nordberg (SE), Karen Toftegaard (DK), Hege Knarvik Sande (NO), Anders Rohlan Småhaug (NO) participate. The moderators are Bebë de Soares (Assitej International) and Lars Garpenfeldt (SE). Read more here.

Creating a digital experience of GRASS

December 15-17  Claire Parsons Co. is creating a digital experience of a favorite performance for the young audiences: GRASS. The stage is covered with grass and a car is about to enter the stage! Two red-headed figures show up and meet a neighbor who really wants to have coffee. GRASS is dance and music, puppetry, and soft circus. An inventive tale of friendship, dreams, and visual magic. An almost original cast will re-open the magic box and meet up in this grassy part of our dreams.
